ELT Solutions
Accelerate extracts and loads. Optimize transformations.
In the following element descriptions, learn how Voracity components (also available individually) provide the fastest, most cost-effective, and most interoperable data integration via ELT:
Using native drivers and special parallel extraction techniques, the load IRI FACT (Fast Extract) Quickly extract data from tables in: Oracle, DB2, Sybase, MySQL, SQL Server, Altibase, Greenplum, and Teradata.
FACT produces flat files containing the selected data with unbelievable speed. FACT uses SQL query syntax to help you get the data you need. Built-in formatting options support your target's formatting requirements.
By presorting extracts, you can significantly improve the performance of all relational database loading utilities. Each of the powerful sorting tools in IRI CoSort can the flat files together with weblogs, COBOL index files, and others Data sources, that are bound to your Data Warehouse database or other applications, presort.
In ELT operations, an RDBMS typically performs transformations. Integrated ER diagramming, database profiling, and graphical SQL editing tools in the IRI Workbench IDE for Voracity, which are based on Eclipse, simplify SQL operations. Also consider the possibility of „offloading‚ the burden of transformations before or after loading. The program SortCL in Voracity or CoSort carries all the same Data transformations through SQL. But SortCL makes them much faster, in a single I/O pass outside the database.
SortCL scripts are also smaller and simpler, and use central Metadata, which for all supported IRIsData sources Standard. SortCL can transform the data in the flat file extracts or in the tables themselves. Both FACT as well as CoSort individually or as part of the IRI Data Management Software Suite or the IRI Voracity data management platform with visual workflow. You can design, execute, and manage all IRI software operations in the same free IRI Workbench GUI.
