IRI Workbench™ is the free graphical user interface (GUI) and integrated development environment (IDE) for all IRI data management and protection software products, and the Voracity Platform, which it includes. The Workbench, available on Windows, MacOS, and Linux, controls jobs via proven IRI CoSort and Hadoop engines and utilizes everything Eclipse™ offers.1

The IRI Workbench has wizards for creating, converting, discovering, and managing metadata, which allow you to create, deploy, and manage simple job scripts (SortCL, etc.), data definition files (DDFs), and XML workflows that are common to all IRI software types. You can also manage your databases and develop and work with applications in any other language or plug-in that is supported in Eclipse.

Within the wizards and dialogs of IRI Workbench, data mapping, MDM, and rule application capabilities are also included. Each created or imported job generates one or more standalone job scripts or configuration files to perform the aforementioned tasks.

IRI jobs are defined in simple, portable text files that you can run anywhere the backend software is licensed. The data and script job definitions, all use the common Metadata Sort Control Language programSortCL) 4GL, most familiar to CoSort users and Voracity solution architects.

Job scripts, workflows, rules, and other metadata, which are managed in the IRI workbench, can be easily searched and shared with the integrated Eclipse functionality. Free Eclipse plugins such as GIT and SVN support team sharing and version control as well as metadata line and impact analysis.

1. Eclipse plugins for the IRI Workbench allow you to do many other things with or apart from IRI jobs within the same environment. For example, you can develop and run database, Java, or MapReduce code, or Python, Perl, or other shell scripts.
