Field encryption and decryption
After defining your input sources and metadata, the user can choose from the menu of protection features in the layout editor for the output target field, shown on the previous „Profile“ page. The first choice in the dropdown menu is encryption (or decryption), which opens this dialog:
In this dialog, the „BUYS.SYMBOL“ column in a data source is encrypted in a format-preserving manner. This dialog supports all built-in encryption and decryption functions that can be applied at the field level with or without explicit encryption keywords. Additional encryption functions or keys, as well as data masking, hashing, encoding, de-ID, pseudonymization, and other FieldShield protection functions, can be applied to multiple fields simultaneously.
