Master Data and Metadata Management Services
Creation
IRI can help you create and control metadata and master data effectively and cost-effectively.
At a fundamental level, IRI's years of experience in data-centric technology can be used to help you generate, share, reuse, and secure metadata, master metadata, and master data, even in the context of the mission-critical applications that need them.
IRI Professional Services and/or the data management platform IRI Voracity providing you with a company-wide view of your existing data sources and helping you to find and automatically record structured metadata, define operational data (and data lineage), as well as master data (reference data).
Our services enable you to carry out all of the following steps:
Eliminate redundancies and standardize formats
Use these formats in data transformation, migration, protection, and reporting applications
· Change and create new layouts in custom formats to create new master data and metadata
· Capturing master data values from existing files and tables and modifying these values
Save, back up, share, track, and version your metadata and master data inventories
You can then store and back up common data definition files, as well as master data formats and values, in repositories, making them available for company-wide sharing and reuse. You can also search data definition files and master data format repositories to respond to and/or assess the impact of changes to these metadata forms, regardless of where they are specified or used (metadata impact analysis).
Control
At the management level, IRI software can apply the same manipulations to master (reference) data as it can to large, structured (transactional) data. Use the data transformation features of the Sort Control Language (SortCL) from CoSort during the transition of source data into an MDM hub, to perform all these valuable tasks:
· Querying and filtering data from source systems before use or updating
Connect and clean data to identify matches and remove duplicate entries
Segment and classify data by their values/features
Sort, aggregate, evaluate, label, and/or pivot (normalize) the data
· Manipulation with expressions, string functions, or complex transformations
Mask, encrypt, or apply other security features for compliance purposes
Create custom reports with selected master data values and formats
Generation of test data values in master data formats
· Create, manage, and utilize master data and metadata in the same place
· Storing master data in database tables or flat files
· Reuse of master data and metadata formats (including custom, composite values/templates)
